He started his career in film working for Films At 59, a post production company in Bristol where he trained as a sound dubbing editor and mixer at the outset of mainstream digital media. His strong musical background coupled with this experience in film then re-shaped his career and he began to be offered commissions by the BBC Natural History Unit in Bristol to score for documentaries. Whilst making the most of the what the digital world had to offer he quickly understood the necessity of working with musicians. His experience with sound mixing appealed to directors as this gave him a key ability to judge the relationship of a music score within the overall soundtrack of a film.
